Claiming my blog on Bloglovin

Please follow me on Bloglovin:
The below quilt blocks are made with men's shirts that were either given to me or I purchased at Saver's or Salvation Army stores.
I'm making it for one of my son's best friends who has often been interested in my quilting and I know would like a quilt but doesn't want to come right out and ask.  Some of the fabrics are very funky.  I think once it's all put together it will be kind of cool.  I'm using a pattern from Bonnie Hunter's book, "Scraps and Shirttails, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle"

                                                                      I hope he likes it!

Fat quarters?

Aren't these pretty?  My husband thought they were fat quarters.  They're actually washcloths from Home Goods - too pretty to disturb so I think I'll just enjoy the view for a bit.

Monday night quilt class

These first two bags are made/being made by Sue.  She's having fun doing all the fancy stitching on it.

Paula made this batik blue one:
And this partial quilt below is by Priscilla.  I love the ferny fabric but can't remember who designed it.

That's all for now!

I won three patterns:

                                                                   The Circle Game,
                                                         Broken Glass, and State Fair
The patterns are designed by Jen Kingwell of http://amitietextiles.blogspot.com/
When all my UFOs are completed, I'm going to start The Circle Game.  Anyone care to join me?  :-)
Oh, how could I forget?  I won the patterns through Katy at http://imagingermonkey.blogspot.com/2013/04/jen-kingwell-winners.html
Her blog is so cool with lots of tutorials and gorgeousness, you really should visit her if you don't already.

Wonky pinwheels

 I'm going crazy making these!  5 1/2", 3 1/2" and 2"
This one starts off with 2" squares.  4 blocks by blocks equals a 6 1/2" block
This one starts off with 3 1/2" squares, 4 x 4 = 12 1/2" block.  The first pic shows two large blocks on the left starting off with 5 1/2" blocks, 4 x 4 = a whopping 20 1/2" block.

So that's what I've been up to.  Would love to see what you're all working on.
And a big hug sent out to my dear friend, Pokey.

I am a winner...

 Isn't my new handbag pretty?
I commented on JaLaRu's blog: http://jakoblaylaruby.blogspot.com and won it!  Brenda sent it to me from Tennessee.
The same day the handbag arrived it became my everyday bag.  I LOVE pink and brown together, and the lining fabric is so sweet.  Look at the beautiful clear glass button.
Here's her label, and she made the perfect-sized inside pocket for my cell phone.  I've been showing it off to all my peeps.   Brenda, thank you so much!!!

Wonky Pinwheel

I did these blocks from a tutorial Natalie shared on her blog:  http://greenleafgoods.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/wonky-pinwheel-quilt-a-do-good-stitches-finish/
They are lots of fun to make, and easy!

Just thought I would share.
