My Big Love quilt was on the wall behind my desk at work, but I brought it home yesterday, and then forgot to blog and wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day!
I got tired of quilting the inside of the heart, mostly because it was not coming out exactly right, so I quit. But I like the puffiness of how it ended up. And here's the back:
This the tutorial I used: http://dearstelladesign.com/2014/01/big-love-quilt-tutorial-from-modern-handcraft/
It was quick and easy.
I hope you have a happy weekend ~ may you bless and be blessed!

I Spy quilt for Ezra
It was lots of work, but I hope he has some fun with it. He did manage to christen it already in the middle of the night recently. Poor mom and dad had quite a mess to clean up I imagine. But the quilt, and Ezra, came out okay in the wash!

Mug rugs
I've been busy making mug rugs for the ladies that volunteer their time in our church nursery. I collected coffee/tea/soup mugs from TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, etc. and I'm matching up some fabrics to complement them. It's fun and I hope they like them.

Whole cloth hand quilting
I received this queen-sized whole cloth quilt from a coworker. Her partner's mom passed away, leaving behind this almost-finished lovely muslin beauty. She was a pretty fair hand-quilter. I hope to do it justice and get it finished some one of these days. It's really tough on the fingers, though, thus, the thimble.

Baby girl quilt kit finished
I finished this baby quilt a while ago but have not been able to gift it to the recipient YET. Hopefully this coming weekend.
I thought this kit was going to be sewn together like a Trip Around the World - wrong. Each piece had to be sewn together individually! But it's pretty, nonetheless.
I love the backing fabric - I think it's Philip Jacobs? And I didn't have quite enough so I put a strip of gray on the left side. I hope Olivia likes it! She was born May 3 and shares her birthday with my son, who is now 24 years old.
By the way, Happy New Year to you all!

Design wall miscellany
Some manly blocks at the top, tiny scrap blocks on the right,
Goldfish blocks for my new grandson's quilt (Ezra's little bro, Finn, was born 9/11!)
and some randomness which might become mug rugs.
Then I have this pinned right by the doorway. I try to remember to pause and read this every time I'm leaving my sewing room.

Double-sided quilt
Well, seems I've finally made some time to tarry with this blog of mine. Here is a mystery quilt I made with my Monday night quilt group:
My husband is the patient quilt-holder.
And this is the first side, the mystery side.
I never loved the fabrics, but my sister did, so she is now the owner of it. All of the fabrics were purchased at RYCO in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
and a couple more pics of the quilt indoors (okay, several more) :-)
I rented a longarm machine at Mad About Quilts in Mansfield, MA - what fun!
Can you see what I wrote? "Made with love by Jodi 2013 Diane"
This border fabric is a gorgeous batik.
I hope my sister Diane gets lots of enjoyment and warmth under this quilt. It sure has much love and affection stitched into the layers for her.

This is actually the second side, which I designed myself. I go for the simple and easy.
I love this barn, and look at the reflection of the sky and leaves and outbuildings in the windows. My husband is the patient quilt-holder.
