Red white blue yellow baby quilt

I showed you this quite a number of months ago, but it was only a top at the time.  Now it's a complete quilt.  Isn't it wonderful when that happens eventually?

Here's a closeup of some of my FMQ'g.  Not TOO bad.  I got lazy on some of the blocks and didn't draw any lines so they leave a bit to be desired.  Some of these fabrics are Denyse Schmidt's.  And can you see the bicycles, scooters, and tricycles?  (Not sure on the designer of that one - sorry)

This quilt is going to a little girl, Makenna.  I'm hesitant to give it to mom, though, because it's not all pink and girly.  This is mom's first child and when I look at FB, there's tons of pink.  I hope she likes it anyway.  I think it's feminine, but maybe I should not have used the blue/red/white stripe, or so much light blue on the back.
(Psalm 127:3:  "Children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.")
I think from now on when I make a quilt for someone, they have to come shopping with me!  (Or shop my stash  :-))  Although actually I made this for someone who wasn't finding out the gender of their baby so it needed to be neutral.  I don't think I accomplished that, though.  But then, again, I can't decide on this quilt, is it boy or girl?  I was going to say, you be the judge, but it's already earmarked, and labeled, for Makenna, so it is what it is.  Okay, I'm done obsessing about it, sorry!
My hubby did the holding of the quilt for me in case you're wondering whose feet those are.
Have a wonderful day!  May you bless and be blessed!  ~ Jodi

Cotton Candy

I purchased this kit from GloriousColor.com over a year ago because I fell in love.  The pattern is by Julie Stockler.  Oh, and did I mention that grandson number two will be here at the end of August?  So, because these fabrics are so not boy, at least not in my little speck of earth, (not to mention, my daughter, grandson's mom, does not love this quilt like I do), I'm making it for some dear friends' daughter who had a baby girl, Olivia, back in May.
Even though I have about, ahem, ten other projects going that I need to start/finish, I just had to make little Olivia a quilt.  I hope to meet her soon!
I didn't realize that the pattern has you, me, really, sew each little 2 1/2" square together separately.  I thought it was going to be done like a trip around the world.  Note to self:  check out how a quilt kit is put together before purchasing.  Ha!  It's fun anyway, just a bit tedious.  And with all these Kaffe Fassett fabrics, who can go wrong!  I love the paperweight fabric in ANY color, they're all gorgeous!
Nice tarrying with you for a bit this morning.  May you have a blessed day!  Jodi

Claiming my blog on Bloglovin

Please follow me on Bloglovin:
The below quilt blocks are made with men's shirts that were either given to me or I purchased at Saver's or Salvation Army stores.
I'm making it for one of my son's best friends who has often been interested in my quilting and I know would like a quilt but doesn't want to come right out and ask.  Some of the fabrics are very funky.  I think once it's all put together it will be kind of cool.  I'm using a pattern from Bonnie Hunter's book, "Scraps and Shirttails, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle"

                                                                      I hope he likes it!

Fat quarters?

Aren't these pretty?  My husband thought they were fat quarters.  They're actually washcloths from Home Goods - too pretty to disturb so I think I'll just enjoy the view for a bit.

Monday night quilt class

These first two bags are made/being made by Sue.  She's having fun doing all the fancy stitching on it.

Paula made this batik blue one:
And this partial quilt below is by Priscilla.  I love the ferny fabric but can't remember who designed it.

That's all for now!
