Computer glitch!

Just to let you know I'm still here, just can't post anything due to major computer problems!  I hope to be back on line if my darling SIL comes over Thursday and agrees to fix it!  Till then, have a wonderful week!

My wonderful first Pay it Forward gift!

Aren't they beautiful???  Nadine from http://quiltedbliss.blogspot.com/ made these for me because I joined her in her Paying it Forward fun.  I was thrilled to open the package and find these inside!  They match my dining room perfectly, too!  And my hubbie made blueberry pancakes (blueberries fresh from our local farm, Jaswell's) this morning, Starbucks coffee with cinnamon, and OJ.  Yum!  And the placemats were a perfect setting for my relaxation this a.m.  After all, I AM on vacation this week.  Here's some more pics so you can see Nadine's wonderful work.
Here's the back:
And her hand-quilting is marvelous!  I'm blessed to have such a creative, wonderful blogger friend!

And one more:
Thank you so very much, Nadine!  I only hope I make my pay it forward people just as happy as I am!

Back from FL trip - ahhhhh...

Hi there! We made it back from visiting Dad, (along with other ventures which I'll tell you about in a future post) in FL late last night - (didn't even tell you we'd be away) but I wanted to share these pics with you.  As I think I told you previously, my mom said I could have one of her sewing machines so I brought her Tailor Professional (never heard of it before) home with me, and all of her thread cache except for some Dad kept in case he needs to mend something or sew a button on.  Check it out:

Mostly Gutermann and Mettler.  I guess those were her favorites.
Then there is this cute heart-shaped plastic case with silk thread, black and red.  I wonder what she made with those.
And check out the price of the Gutermann:  $1.20!
So maybe I won't have to buy thread for a while.  But I WILL have to fill up these holders, don't you think?  There's about 12 empty spool holders that need something to do!
Check back and I'll have some pics of our trip and a purchase from the Charleston, South Carolina market.
Till then, take care and God bless!

Round 2 Bento Box

Many of us who participated in Give it a Go's Mod Bento Box block swap didn't get enough blocks to make what we'd like so she's gracious enough to do it again so we can get more!  I love my quilt so far even though it's narrow (which I posted about a week ago), so here's my choice of fabrics for one block for Round 2:  (colors are much brighter live and in person - (or in fabric) :-)

Etsy purchase - a teeny bit of what heaven must be like!

My post carrier carried this up to my door today!  Yippee!  From stefaniexu on Etsy.  The top little package is a gift from her. Lovely!  I wonder if she hand-crocheted the heart herself.  And I just have to show you the details:

   Pardon the poor lighting, please.
I can't read what it says underneath these bashful peacocks, but it's Japanese light cotton fabric, Zoology.
Zoology Collection

Japanese cotton fabric - lovely daisy and lavender.
Japanese Summer Birds on Floral Tree Stumps
Unique Linen Collection - Vintage Love Letter (it's in French and I can't read it, but I love it)
Love of Nature - gorgeous floral, orange, green, light green
Love of Nature Spring Garden in green and blue
And last but not least, the gift - so thoughtful, and the package was done up so nicely, too, with happy thank you tape.  Thanks, Stefanie!  I will be back to visit!  And anyone reading my blog, I highly recommend YOU visiting Stefanie's etsy site, too!

Random Mod Bento Boxes

Here's some randomness of my Mod Bento Box blocks from Give-it-a-Go swap.  I'm just randomly picking them up and sewing them together.  Here's 24.  I have 15 left to put together, not quite enough for a quilt. Then I have to decide whether to sew a border on or not and settle for a small quilt, or wait for the second round that Give it a Go is going to start up soon for more blocks.  Hmmmm...

Tranquility

August 1 already and I haven't spent much time out in my backyard that I love that my hubby has worked so hard on to accomplish my wishes: a pond/waterfall, plantings, etc.  He put in all the cobblestones and the pond, hand-dug.  I planted the plants but need to find some more low-growing groundcover.  Just thought I'd share some pics.
