Another UFO...

which one of these days I DO plan on getting back to, but not just yet. I'm having fun making baby quilts and Tomte dolls, both I hope to show you by the end of this week.
These are called Pies and Tarts which I started over a year ago. All hand-sewn and received monthly in the mail from an online shop. It quickly got ahead of me and I was feeling overwhelmed.
My hubs and I went to Brenton Point in Newport last Saturday, the day before Hurricane Irene hit Rhode Island. It was foggy and misty, and the waves were pretty much status quo at that point. On Sunday, I'm sure, it was a whole 'nother story. We lost our electricity at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning but were fortunate enough to have it back on at around 7 p.m. the same night. Some of our poor family members and neighbors still don't have power.
I hope all of you are doing well! I've been a bad blogger the past, I don't know how long! I have been checking my feed, just haven't felt like posting. My blog has somehow reverted to an old format and it's a pain to post. When I download a pic, it shows up on the screen as all code symbols so I lose track of where I am. It's about time I revamped my blog anyway. A sit-down with my daughter is in order. She won't mind helping me, right, Ta??? Good thing she loves me and has LOTS of patience!
Take care, everyone!

  1. It's nice to read a post from you. And I appreciate seeing your beach photo, pre-Irene. It's good to know you weren't without power for too long. Very nice pies and tarts! I've admired those on several Aussie blogs... and I'll keep admiring. No need to add another UFO to my pile! Thanks for sharing.

  2. Good to hear from you, Jodi, and glad you didn't have to lose your electricity any longer than you did.
Your UFO is appealing, won't it be a nice quilt?!? I don't even have a clue how many unfinished I have, maybe when I start reorganizing this room of mine-boy, talk about ufo's....

  3. Oh, I love that picture of the Rhode Island coast. So rocky and foggy and gorgeous!

  4. I have a friend who is making the Pies and Tarts quilt, she is viewing it as a long term project, just doing 15 minutes a day, your ones look beautifully bright.

Regarding your problem with pics, check near the top of the post for a couple of tabs one with Compose and the other with HTML, if you click on the Compose one it may solve your problem as you generally only see all the code when you are on the HTML tab.

  5. Oh, those pies and tarts so deserve to be in a finished quilt. And yes, I agree with having some quilts a long term project - for a start it eases the pressure off for you!!
