High heat equals fat ankles, and various and sundry other pics.

Do you know what this is? Not the fat ankles, but the fabric thingy? My daughter made me this nice camera strap! I forgot to take a pic before I put it on the boring black strap, but you can see it good enough in these pics. She's very thoughtful and has good taste. She also is the mom of Ezra, my grandson!

I haven't posted in a while because I've been too busy making these:
And there are more, but I left them inside the house during my photo session and it was 104 degrees, so I was too hot to schlep back inside to retrieve them. Plus, after looking at a few of them, I think they all start to look alike unless you're viewing them in the flesh - um, fabric!
I also want to show you these, but I'm almost embarrassed by this. Although the fabric-buying frenzy WAS over a period of quite a few months (I think, I hope, I imagine, I pretend...)
But feast your eyes on this prettiness and enjoy:
This group of fabrics is for a baby boy quilt I must get started on, and soon:
I already made the Sherbet Pips baby girl quilt, and have started another baby girl quilt made with the Castle Peeps fabric.

This fabric is from It's handprinted in Georgia, 55% hemp, 45% organic cotton, and I LOVE it:

Then there's this fabric for more of the Japanese x and + blocks which I love making and I showed you a few sometime ago:

And these I haven't decided what to do with yet, but I love the brightness.

I hope it's not too hot where you guys are! I know some of you are in the middle of winter, but we're in a scorching heat wave which is supposed to break Sunday, or so the weathermen are predicting. Let's hope they're right!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you do! May you bless and be blessed!

  1. I hear ya on the fat ankles!
I do love fabric just like you, Jodi, I just came from the local "Sew & Sew" quilt shop, not empty handed, I might add. 4- 1/2 pieces, 10- fat quarters...all begged to come home with me.... and they love their new place, lol you are in good company, Jodi!

  2. Loove the last three fabrics - the birdcages and the metro (?). From the photo, they all seem to have similar colours, wouldn't they be wild in a quilt all together?!

  3. The blocks are BEAUTIFUL but the photos don't do them justice.... looking forward to seeing the finished product in the flesh.. um, fabric!

  4. I am loving those star blocks. Nice work and a great thing to make Shen it is too hot be outside.

  5. Silly iPhone word completion. I meant "when", not "Shen". lol

  6. Love, love, love your star blocks. They are going to look sensational in a quilt. We are in the middle of an unseasonally cold and wet winter. It however does not make me envious of your heat. As I have got older I no longer like the unbearable summer heat and humidity. At least blue is a cool colour to work with.

  7. 104 degrees? Holy smokes! I'd be laying on my butt under a fan!
That hand printed fabric is gorgeous by the way!

I love to hear from you!
