My darling mini quilt, if I do say so myself.
My mini quilt - inspired by Ruthiequilts at Flickr - she's very creative and talented! See the little baby snail up above? All the fabrics are 1930s reproductions.
And the back. Nice little flowers, but pic doesn't pick them up very well.

To celebrate my complete love for the redo of my blog, I've decided to have a little giveaway! And seeing as how my name is Cut to Pieces, I thought that it would be fitting to give away fabric that was cut to pieces...What is that you say? Why a bunch of scrap fabric! But not just any scraps....Katie Jump Rope Scraps! I'm working on a Katie Jump Rope Quilt right now with my Busy Bees group so I have lots of scraps floating around and they are starting to pile up. Never fear, I will use them. But in the meantime, I'll share the Katie Jump Rope love with you all!

4th of July table runner
I got the tutorial for this table runner from Anina at http://twiddletails.blogspot.com/2009/05/strippy-runner-tutorial.html. She was very gracious in providing the tutorial to Sew Mama Sew, and I loved her color choices, too. I needed a 4th of July theme, though, so here it is.

Pay it Forward
"Pay it forward" is the idea that random acts of kindness are given without expecting anything in return. It's passing on a kindness hoping that your recipients will do the same, and forming a never-ending chain of goodwill , that's what this is about. But it isn't only kindness, it is also a means to connect with our fellow crafters, to network, if you will, and to share our enjoyment of crafting/sewing instead of just keeping it to ourselves or where only friends and family get to see it. Nadine from quiltedbliss.blogspot.com/
has posted this on her blog and I think it is a great idea.

As the first commenter on her blog post I will receive one of her gifts, yippee! This is how it works: You'll have to comment on this post and the first three people who comment will receive a handmade gift from me within the next few months. But those three commentors will also have to post the idea on their blog and commit to making a gift for the first three people who comment on their blog and so on and so forth. Not sure what I'll make yet, but when I will do my best to please whoever the commenters are. So please pass on the word and spread some kindness!

Finally getting my wall hanging quilted. Even with lots of pins it's still shifting as I sew. Going to take a while and lots of patience.
Also, some pink cow material that I thought I liked in the vintage store, but maybe not so much now! Ha! Anyone want it? It's free! I even washed it because it had a stain, and I think it all came out. It's a nice bright pink, not faded like the pic came out.
Here's my fabric for the kaleidescope quilt-a-long I'm just beginning with a group on flickr. Go to http://sugarstitches.com/blog/. Maybe you want to join? It looks like fun! And my fabrics are Denyse Schmidt, Hope Valley. Love them!
And last but not least for today, some of my stash: (just because I know I like looking at fabric, any fabric, anyone's fabric, anywhere, even the fabric that people are wearing!
Maybe you do, too!

Here's blocks 2 and 3 for the mod bento box swap I'm participating in. Here's the link if you want to join. It's not too late!
My darling daughter helped me choose the fabric, then put them in the order for best layout - well, I accidentally mixed them up so Block 2 is not the greatest, but I like Block 1 very much! Thanks, Ta, for your help, even though I boggled it!

A doll/mini quilt - thanks, Sew Mama Sew, for that wonderful tutorial! I'm having a blast, and almost done. Will hand sew the binding on today. Now to get my sis to show me how to create a label- hint, hint. (And we'll see if she's REALLY "following" me.) The sea horse is embroidered free-hand (maybe I should have added some sea grass) and the dragonfly is hand-appliqued. I did some machine quilting around the border. I think I will hand-quilt it, today, too.
I'm surprising myself at my ripened age - maybe I've finally found some creativity and a wee bit of God-given talent - thank you, Lord!
