I love Anna Maria

Horner, that is.  She has such a way with colors in her fabrics, so rich and vibrant.  I decided to try to make a modern "blended" quilt.  Has anyone ever?  If so, I would love to see.  Here's the beginning of my attempt:

I should be able to find something that's perfect without going shopping, wouldn't you agree?

This is most of my fabric, but not all.  

I'm using this as my inspiration.  I love the Victorian romance of the quilts in this book.  

The book is "Blended Quilts" by Marsha McCloskey and Sharon Evans Yenter.

"16 Quilts Inspired by the 1800s"  

We'll see what I end up with :-)  Probably a hot mess!

Drawstring bag with Japanese bikes

I made this drawstring bag for my grandson, Finn, who turned 1 year old on September 11.  He received some cool blocks with no way to corral them so mom asked me to make him a bag.  She chose the fabrics from my stash, and, voila!  It's lined with the same black/white stripey fabric that the strings are made of.  Gotta have stripes :-)  

I am going to a Lecture/Trunk Show by Rachel May tomorrow in Providence, RI, hosted by the Rhode Island Modern Quilt Guild - so exciting!

Quilt for a little girl named Fiona - finished!

So happy to have finally delivered this quilt to Fiona and her mom!

 They have been very patient.  Isn't Fiona the cutest?

And the bed is a fabulous antique - love it!

Ahhhh - finishes are the best!  Sleep tight, Fiona! xo
